DMD Weathering Steel
The Houston First Baptist Church project is a greenfield expansion of the multi-location First Baptist Church Group. The 100,000 sqft church is situated on 32 acres in Bridgeland, a master-planned community in Northwest Houston.
Designed by Kirksey Architecture and constructed by Tellepsen, HFBC was constructed featuring a custom weathering steel facade by DMD. The project utilizes 25 unique interlocking concealed fastener panel types to address the wall conditions around the branding and cross areas.
The design is meant to feel organic and natural, and was mindfully fabricated to serve as a respectful aesthetic companion to the rich red tones found within the surrounding Katy Prairie landscape.
The new location, which is Houston’s First Baptist Church’s second-largest church in the Houston area, opened its doors of the new campus on June 11th, 2018.
